Family Portrait
Townsville, North Queensland has so many wonderful places for family portrait shoots and a favourite of mine is the beach at Pallarenda. Playing in the sand and even the sea (if the parents are willing!), creates some wonderfully intimate moments for me to capture. This late afternoon shoot for John and Tori with their beautiful boys, Issi and Ari, was so much fun and the images show how much love is in this family. A relaxed photo session gives me lots to work with and makes it easier to bring out the essence of a family’s relationship.

1920's Portraits
October brought with it the chance to capture a 1920’s themed shoot with Jenn and Pete. Shooting in Townsville City, the sun was high in the sky, fortunately the alleyway location had several good backdrops in complete shade. Jenn and Pete’s costumes were fantastic and we had great fun posing them in front of the poster backings and rustic doorways. Adding a sepia filter to the black and white images gave them real boost, with the striking contrasts bringing out the wonderful fashion and moodiness of the 1920’s.
Our Anniversary
For our anniversary I gave my wife a digital composite from our wedding. Our wedding was shot by Ann Vardanega from Avar Studio, a Master of Photography with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (http://www.avarstudio.com.au/)
The composites I created includes four of Ann's beautiful photographs, I feel they encapsulate the day for us and it is very personalised with our vows written in the sky. Here at Visual Echo Photography we can create digital composites from images you already have or from the ones we capture.
These images also display the two main techniques of creating a digital composite. The first displays 'Clean Classic' and the second 'Merge & Flow'. This can be important when choosing a composite to suit your taste and style; sometimes a combination of the two is worth considering.
Hills in Hollywood commercial shoot
Townsville's Hills in Hollywood hosted a glamorous collaborative shoot to showcase local products and talent. Hills in Hollywood provided a selection of their beautiful dresses for the gorgeous models, Love Lane designs supplied handmade fascinators and jewellery, Bridal Blitz styled the make-up with Tammy Clair fashioning hair. I was able to capture so many great images from this shoot, thanks to all involved and a special thanks to Judi for making it all possible and bringing it together. Adelaide Wedding
Visual Echo Photography were privileged to be asked to cover a beautiful wedding over in South Australia. In the wine-producing hills of the Barossa Valley, the atmosphere was relaxed yet bubbling with excitement as Sarah & Ross prepared for their big day. Ross arrived looking very much the James Bond of the occasion, with Sarah and her English family having spent the pre-wedding night at the winery in a wonderfully rustic cottage. Sarah’s friends and family enjoyed an intimate morning with the bride whist she had her make-up and hair styled, along with the compulsory glass of champagne of course!
The wedding itself took place in the gardens of the winery with the sun beating down, showing off the amazing greens of the hillside and contrasting with the reds of the shading umbrellas. Sarah looked stunning and the groom so proud during the ceremony and with family and friends having travelled from around Australia and the world to be there, the day was a tremendous success. Family and group photographs captured everyone’s enjoyment and then we whisked the happy couple away for a few newly-wed shots in the beautiful surroundings.
